About this time last year we found out my maternal grandmother had a terminal neurological disorder. She deteriorated quickly. My mother, a Registered Nurse and our family decided to take my grandma in to hospice her at home. The strong and courageous woman my mother is, turned into a frail, thin exhausted woman by the end. As the end neared my mother talks of sitting at my grandmother's bedside and listening to her watch. My mother now wears this watch so her mother is never far away. I dedicate this poem to my mother's dedication in assuring my grandmother died with dignity. God bless you mom and rest in peace grandma!
