This poem is about the interaction between two people, drawn to each other by some type of attraction. There is flirting, but the girl wonders if it is only superficial, or if there are truly deep feelings behind his flirting. She thinks about him constantly, but is saddened by the thought that perhaps he isn't driven with the same deep love that she is.

Maybe he is too young to understand or to feel as deeply as she does. She thinks about every little thing he has done to her, but realizes that he might not even think twice about them. Her spirits lift as she dwells on all the beauty he has given her, and accepts whatever he is offering, shallow or deep.
