I wrote this not only for myself but for my kids. I will never give up on hope, I will never give up on love. This is about being a young, stupid teenager and maturing. This is for my daughter Cheyenne and my son Clayton and the wonderful man that finally turned to what was really important.

One Last Start
We met a long time ago in school,
Back when everything was cool,
When things got bad,
They always got glad.
We were stupid,
We were just having fun,
Until it all begun.
I was going to have your baby
We would be happy . . . maybe
The situation was too much to handle,
You were gone like a flame on a candle.
When you came back it seemed right,
But you would only stay a few day and night.
Again, I was having your baby
We could try to work this out . . . maybe.
Well, for me this was the last,
Too much time had passed,
I was stupid to think we would last.
You never looked back,
The future looked black.
Things were tough,
Finally enough was enough,
I have grown,
To hold my own,
With no more pain
I realized I had more to gain.
With all of our lives at a dance,
You want just one last chance.
You say you're ready now,
Do you really know how
To make a new start,
And not have our hearts torn apart?
Will it be worth the gain,
Or just another game of pain?
I love you with all my heart,
We can give it one last start.
