This poem describes the feelings inside of me once I found I was diagnosed as a "depressed" person. These aren't even close to all of the thoughts that goes through your head.

Am I Alone?

I get a funny feeling,
it comes from deep inside.
I get all mad and angry,
wanting to go and hide.

My doctor calls it depression,
my dad says it's just me.
But the thoughts and feelings,
no one will ever be able to see.

Some say I'm psycho,
some say I'm just weird.
It's like I'm a different person,
and the old me just disappeared.

I get really edgy,
I want to commit suicide real bad.
Then I get a headache,
followed by feeling sad.

I wish I could get help,
I wish it would go away.
Maybe if I keep praying real hard,
it will some day.

I thought that this poem really does show what people or kids are feeling when they are suffering from depression, if kids parents read this and they had a depressed kid it could help them understand a little better, mums and dads do think that it's just kids being them but it's not it can become such a serious problem. this poem is really something and i love it!

this poem has realy touched me because it basically speaks of stuff that sometimes some of us go thruogh and we cannot express them by words. since i was in the same situation i could not explaim it either. so as a reader it actually gives me hope that there is somebody who can clearly explain the situation. my request is if the writer can actually go deeper. reach out to that blood that flows but we actually cannot touch. that feeling that tearsa a person between two worlds, as though you could scream but later u realise that you cant, coz nobody is willing to understand you. i am touched indeed.

I really loved youre poem. I happen to have depression, bipolar disorder, Aspergers Syndrom, and panic attacks. I also happen to become so depressed sometimes that i cut myself. You are not alone. Quite often I have to change my medication. I was really touched by your poem. I very much want you to understand that you really arn't alone. Sometimes when I get depressed I tend to get distant from everyone around me causing us to fight and I feel as though no one really does understand even though they say they do. I feel the same way, and often, people don't believe me. I get frustrated because I try really hard to keep myself upbeat, but the harder I try, the more tough it is. I suffer from manic depression and it sucks. my brother suffered from some kind of depression and no one cared except me and so to him he was alone, and one person can't save someone. well for one you should know that I had to be feeling just as bad to be up at this time of the night on the computer reading suicide poems and about depression. I personally haven't been diagnosed with depression but if you're around me it wouldn't take long for you to know just by being in my presence. I don't know things have to be like this. Sometimes i just break down and cry for no apparent reason. I feel like regardless of how people tell you they understand how you feel, they really don't. Not a one of us are going through the same. We might have that same or similar feeling, but known can level up with other. I always think that I have it so bad, but I know that theres more happening than what's going on with me. So I'll continue to keep you and the rest that have spoken up in my prayers if you promise to do the same. And you know what else, you're lucky because you're finally putting your feelings out on the table and now you shouldn't feel alone because if no one else feels you I do.

Good expression. I once felt quite depressed and continued to pray. Finally one night I was so tired of the depression I wondered if there was a God and if my prayers were heard. The next day and ever since (4years) my depression has been gone and I have come to see the truth to God. May not happen overnight for all, but keep the faith.

this poem is a great poem for a person that takes life for granted. i mean you never know when your going to come along someone that you dont even know that dies because of a suicidal death or maybe its your own family member or someone else that you care about a lot. I was really touched by your poem. The day I met my husband he was planning to commit suicide. I don't know how but I made him think twice about what he was planning to do. Now we have a happy life together and we have a son on the way. I've read other poems that talk about suicide but none have touched me as much as yours.
