Ready For Love

Take my hand and lead the way;
tell me all you want to say.
Whisper softly in my ear,
all those things I want to hear.
Kiss my lips and touch my skin;
bring out passions deep within.
Pull me close and hold me near;
take away my pain and fear.
In the darkness of the night,
be my beacon, shine your light.
In the brightness of the sun,
show me that you are the one.
Give me wings so I can fly;
for I can soar when you're nearby.
Enter my heart, break down the wall,
it's time for me to watch it fall.
I've been a prisoner, can't you see?
Break my chains and set me free.
Strip me of my armor tight;
you'll find I won't put up a fight.
Release my soul held deep within . . .
I'm ready now, let love begin.

    I love to read poems. I really enjoyed Ruths' poem. I got chills when I read it. The poem makes you think of someone who was hurt in a love before and now they are ready. I thought it was so cool that this was the first poem I read because i felt like I had a wall built up around my heart too. I was also living in emotional pain and fear. Now I am ready to love again. That is a wonderful poem. I will never forget the day I got on the computer and read, Ready for Love, and my whole day was filled with joy and happiness.

    This poem hits home for me, I am very hard to get to know for the walls and barriers that I have in place to protect me. Sounds funny for a guy I know, but it takes its tole on relationships for the bad ones interfere with the good, which is what I am dealing with now. Bravo! when I finished reading this poem I was seriously touched and even shaded tears since it reminded me of my first girl friend who has just walked out of my life after exhausting all the passions and my intimate love. we had fallen in love with her some three years ago and made many promises such as marriage, happy family and just to mention the key promises and now I've been left with a broken heart whose bleedings can fill a tea-cap in a minute. As the saying goes; "when a lizard looses its tail,it grows another one" I have tried to start a serius relationship with another (player)who is not all that committed as my former lover Dorry.     This poem deserves whatever the highest rating availiable. This poem nearly brought me to tears. I've never read a poem that expressed so well the desire to move on into love. To leave the past behind and trust in love and the special person in your life. It truely reflected what i'm going through and i think it was beautiful
